PROSSER, WA    – Dec 5, 2011 – Red Comet (www.redcomet.org) announced today that it successfully integrated and launched a brand new website and learning management platform. The company has made significant strides this year and this is reflected in the launch of these new systems.

The seamless integration of the new learning management platform and the website will mean that students can evaluate options, review course outlines prior to enrolling, enroll in courses, and complete coursework with ease. With this new technology, it is now easy for Red Comet to keep its course content up-to-date; with this new platform, adding, changing and deleting content to align with state requirements will be much easier. Course material can be easily navigated. In every step of their distance learning experience, students are empowered to make the decisions that matter – like deciding when they study, where they study, how they study, pace of study and most importantly, when they take the final tests.

As always, parent and school staff involvement is very much encouraged even in the new platform. The new platform allows parents to review the progress of their students and allows them to contact Red Comet staff or teachers to discuss anything that might contribute to the success of their child. They can also have a dialog with other fellow parents on common topics of interest on the discussion board supported by the new platform.  

School staff can directly log into the new platform to view the performance metrics of their students. School staff can also proctor the tests and have a clear view on a student’s progress and performance in a course. They will also receive automatic, periodic emails from the platform whenever the student completes a milestone. They will also receive automatic nudge emails from our platform in the event of persistent student inactivity.

Our bi-lingual students and their parents will especially benefit from the support offered by our platform and website for a complete translation in Spanish with a click of a button. This applies to both the website content and course material. Bilingual students can study the course material in Spanish and complete all the assignments and tests in English.
