By: HBO Archives "Crusade in the Pacific" was produced for television and was nationally syndicated in 1951. The series used footage shot by The March of Time cameramen to recount events in the Pacific from the 1931 Japanese seizure of Manchuria through the Korean War. "The restoration project is timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor invasion," explains Barbara Thomas, Senior Vice President, HBO Sports®. "Thankfully we had well-preserved, original 35mm film to work with. All 26 programs have been converted to High Definition Video. This series is priceless for all of today’s storytellers." Clips from select episodes of the "Crusade in the Pacific" mini-series are now online for instant access to researchers. Other March of Time productions, ranging from the 1930s to the 1960s, are also currently available online and feature such diverse topics as political election maneuvering, teenage girls, the football business, the oil and tobacco industries, Mormonism and iconic American cities like New Orleans.
