Mobile technology: The key to future lab efficiency?

One industry in which advances in mobile technology have really proved their worth is in pharmaceutical drug development, or practically any scientific R&D environment for that matter. Associates are nowadays able to make last-minute changes to a presentation on their way to a meeting or input data from an experiment into the lab information management system (LIMS) directly at the workstation. As commercial devices, such as Apple's iPad tablet, move rapidly beyond email and other core functions, scientists have an ever-expanding range of mobile capabilities at their fingertips.
