Pakistan's military checkpoints at the border with Afghanistan in strikes that military officials said killed at least 26 soldiers.

According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The President, the Prime Minister and the Government of Pakistan strongly condemned the attacks which were totally unacceptable, constituted a grave infringement of

Pakistan’s sovereignty, were violative of international laws and a serious transgression of the oft conveyed red lines and could have serious repercussions on Pakistan-US/NATO/ISAF cooperations”, the statement said.

I'd like to hear what those helicopter pilots have to say. Did they fired upon the Pakistani soldiers at either checkpoint?
It wouldn't surprise me if a NATO helicopter had returned the fire to protect themselves..

A great time for NATO to not only apologize, but to withdraw. The Afghan occupation serves no purpose.
NATO can stay another year, or another decade. It just won't matter.

Pakistan and Afghanistan will continue to evolve from tribesmen, to statesmen, at their own pace, like in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia; their own will, regardless of who the occupiers are.
We're only pouring salt on a region's burning rash.
This is a good time for the U.S. and NATO military to go home.
