Nov. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech has released two new Intel® Atom-based DIN-rail controller platforms, the UNO-1170A and UNO-1170AE. With 1G DDR2 RAM, Intel Atom N270 processor, fanless design, compact size, energy efficient power consumption, and wide temperature operating range of -10 to 60°C, the UNO-1170A and UNO-1170AE provide high computing power and are able to operate in harsh environments.

They both have a built-in 512KB SRAM battery back-up system to secure important data against unexpected shut down. They are equipped with 2 x Ethernet ports, 3 x serial ports (2 x RS-232 ports and 1 x RS-232/422/485 port), 3 x external USB 2.0 ports, 2.5” SATA bay, and 1 x internal secure USB port to support versatile peripherals such as USB encryption dongle key. Their front-accessibility and DIN-rail design allow convenient wiring and easy installation as well.

Furthermore, both support a number of operating systems and software applications such as Microsoft® Windows® WES 2009, Windows XP Embedded, WinCE 5.0/6.0, embedded Linux, and the latest Windows Embedded Standard 7P. To perform essential remote maintenance tasks, Advantech DiagAnywhere Agent is also available.

With all these great features, the UNO-1170A and UNO-1170AE are excellent choices for many applications uses such as, communication protocol converting, SCADA RTU, warehouse and environment monitoring.
