Black Friday Sale Ads Released Early On YouTube

In effort to see who can woo the Black Friday customer first, many major retailers are leaking copies of their Black Friday sales ad early.  But the way they are doing it is not what you think.

Many of these retailers, both big and small, are using video, and specifically the video sharing site YouTube, to release video versions of their ads.  While the bigger companies aren't talking about this viral strategy, one specialty company is openly admitting they leaked their ad on YouTube.

With a headline of, "Water Distiller Black Friday Sale Ad," WaterDistillers.com launched their Black Friday Sale ad on YouTube one week early.  You can view the ad at http://YouTube.com/WaterDistillers

http://WaterDistillers.com is actually displaying their YouTube ad on their home page now as well.  According to Frank Mendez, owner of the company that sells water distillers for homes and commercial applications, "We were looking for a way to bring awareness to our small company among the giant retailers."

But big companies like Walmart and Best Buy are getting in on the action as well.  Even though their ads haven't been officially released they are being added on YouTube by users with obscure user names.

According to Mendez traffic to the Water Distillers website has picked up since the release of the video.  "We will see if this translates to sales," he said.
