The rapid adoption of single use technology

Nov. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- While it may seem like a contradiction in terms, single-use systems are helping many firms in the pharmaceutical industry to cut costs and improve efficiency, with the sector seeing a rapid uptake of disposable technologies in the past few years as the success stories spread.

Single-use systems are also beneficial for items that need to be sterile and prevent contamination or cross-contamination, so have been used for some decades in hospitals where the spread of germs could be devastating, but as with anything disposable, one of the greatest challenges those using the technology will face is the large amount of waste it produces and how this can be safely and sustainably disposed of.
