Nov. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- BlackBride.com has been the premier online resource for brides of color since 1998. Acquired in 2010 by Mary Chatman, President, BlackBride.com has undergone site improvements that includes a new look, a new website and new staff that are well into the planning of their upcoming bridal show scheduled January 22nd at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Downtown.  Chatman shares, "BlackBride.com is the ultimate wedding companion for planning the most romantic and important day of a woman's life. We provide definitive vendor resources for brides in every aspect of wedding planning, including new trends in fashion, designer wedding gowns, photography, accessories, food, honeymoon travel, destination weddings and so much more!"  She continues, "We are thrilled about our new look and site improvements and equally more excited about providing a phenomenal bridal experience for brides-to-be in January!"

Chatman who has over 20 years in corporate and worked as a Director in global business development as well as worked for several years as a project manager, embraces all the opportunities that have been presented since taking over the company over a year ago.  "Many people ask the question why have a site solely dedicated to a 'Black' bride and I say to them, it's for all brides, and especially for brides of color."  Approached by the Publicity and Promotions department at Sony and Tri-Star Films to partner with BlackBride.com for their newly released film, Jumping the Broom, earlier this year, Chatman believes brides-to-be of color are an underserved and untapped lucrative market, a fact that attracted Sony and Tri-Star to reach out explains Chatman, "In the wedding industry, you rarely see women of color featured online, in print, on the bridal fashion runway, or on television. African-Americans spend more than $1.6 billion annually on weddings. We want to shine the light on brides of color in an elegant, chic, couture manner, while providing them with the best resources in planning the most important day of their lives.

The new site will feature a monthly newsletter filled with great advice from the world's top wedding experts, D-I-Y for brides and grooms, details and information on the latest wedding trends, best picks for wedding vendors in various cities, budgeting and financial tips and access to relationship experts in their newly featured, "After The Aisle", a members only section that will serve as a source of information, advice and resources for couples long after the "I do's". Chatman says, "It's a work in progress but we have great things in store and look forward to sharing all of our good news with our readers."

You can check out the new site by visiting http://www.BlackBride.com. You can also get more information about the 2nd Annual Bridal Show in Atlanta for sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities and of course, stay up-to-date with news and added features as the site continues to grow.
