Oct. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- One established Stockport business, The complete overhaul will also involve the creation of distinctive new branding for each component of the transformed operation.

Already one of the North of England’s largest providers of motor and family legal cover, bosses at the firm have revised back office and sales operations to more closely mirror the sectors they are targeting. Having benchmarked their product offering against those of key competitors UK-wide, they have also improved and broadened their range of products and are prepared to guarantee that they are at least equal to, if not better than, anything similar in the marketplace.

Aim Group, will become a parent company, providing communal services to three strategic business units: Aim Core Protect will target the insurance industry with brokers set to realise the most immediate benefits resulting from the overhaul; Aim Legal Services will focus on the legal sector, offering traditional products as well as a variety of more innovative solutions; and Aim Automotive will concentrate on providing dealers, repairers and fleet operations with a broad range of products and services designed to help improve their customer service levels and retention rates.

Lead by sales manager Ian Meachin, appointed in the summer to co-ordinate the efforts of Aim’s sales and key accounts teams and to raise visibility among key audiences nationwide, the launch of this new approach follows an unwelcome period of uncertainty at the firm which, after a number of key departures in 2010, entered something of a stasis. Combined with the difficult economic climate, competitive pressures and a greater desire on the part of customers for efficiencies, such as paperless working, the root and branch review couldn’t have come at a more important point in Aim’s development.

Meachin explains: “It’s fair to say we have promised a lot in the last few years but, despite our best intentions, what we’ve delivered hasn’t set the world alight. All that’s about to change. Challenging times call for innovative thinking. If you just keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll just end up getting what you’ve always got and that’s simply not good enough for us or our customers.”

“Despite our relatively low profile recently we have been transacting a healthy level of business, not just surviving but thriving thanks to the strong partnerships we have developed up and down the supply chain. But what our new strategy allows us to do is broaden our horizons, targeting new partners in new markets with a hugely improved range of commercial offers.”

“We have set ourselves ambitious growth targets but believe they are achievable, especially as the first tangible demonstrations of our revised approach and the only thing customers will really judge us on, new products and services, are ready to come on line in each of the next few months.”

“I am certain that what we are doing is not only right for this business in the future but also, more importantly, great news for our partners, new and old alike.”

Established in 1999 and based in Stockport, the Aim Group employs around 25 people, and provides policies to customers through independent brokers and intermediaries nationwide.

As well as providing motor and family-based legal expenses insurance policies, Aim acts as a claims management company for its customers, referring cases to a nationwide panel of solicitors and credit hire companies. In addition to helping people cope more easily with the aftermath of often-traumatic incidents, Aim has successfully helped customers recover uninsured losses running into millions of pounds.

Aim Legal Expenses Insurance Services Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority and regulated by the Ministry of Justice where its regulated claims management activities are concerned.

Originally from Manchester, Ian Meachin was appointed sales manager in Summer 2011. As well as taking responsibility for Aim’s existing sales and key account teams, his brief was to raise the firm’s visibility among brokers, intermediaries and the automotive sector nationwide. Meachin has always worked in sales roles, originally in the retail and construction sectors before moving into finance and then the credit hire industry with Helphire plc where he occupied the role of divisional manager. In 2008, he joined Winn Solicitors as national sales manager. While there, he helped develop the sales team, evolve the brand, launch a range of new marketing initiatives and increase the volume of business on the books, successfully negotiating contracts with a number of major automotive dealership groups.
