lert, a leading provider of real-time, cloud-based environmental monitoring solutions designed to enable businesses and individuals to mitigate temperature and critical parameter related disasters, reports that MotorHome Magazine, a publication of Affinity Group, Inc., featured the Cellular Edition critical environmental monitor in the TechSavy section of its November 2011 issue.
Noting, “Temperature@
lert is a device that can take the worry out of leaving your best friends alone,” author Bob Livingston described the Cellular Edition as, “allowing you to keep track instantly of inside conditions and be alerted via email, text or phone call when temperatures reach a preset threshold, or when the (electrical)
power goes off.”
Temperature@
lert has heard the same sentiment from many of its traveling pet owner customers, especially those who tour the country in their motor homes and RVs. The issue is especially important in summer months when the motor home or RVs inside temperatures can rise quickly to very high levels. Campgrounds, especially in warmer climates provide electrical power to keep air conditioners and refrigerators running, and many work very well. However, when temperatures reach elevated levels during the warmest parts of the day, campgrounds can experience a demand for power that can sometimes cause outages. In these instances, as in a car parked in a driveway, inside temperatures can rise quickly. And those traveling with pets left behind during day excursions can quickly find their loved ones in dangerous conditions.
Harry Schechter, Temperature@
lert’s President & CEO stated, “We’ve heard from customers who are RV owners, dog trainers and handlers, and dog show attendees' accounts of pet owners who experienced such problems. It’s scary since many of these pets are treated like members of the family. I’d like to thank MotorHome Magazine for their thorough product review and the opportunity to help bring this important topic to traveling pet owners.”
The company’s Cellular Edition the platform has become the tool of choice for motor home and RV pet owners because it operates independently from a campground’s wireless network. Customers have told us campground wireless connections can experience outages, especially when electrical power or computer network problems occur. The Cellular Edition operates with AC power to keep its internal back-up batteries charged. When external electrical power is lost, the device continues to operate. And through the Sensor Cloud user interface, customers can set up an alert when the device switches to battery power, giving them an alert before things start to get warm.
“Customers love our free iPhone and Android Apps,” noted Mr. Schechter. “We have one dog trainer who can hear her special ring tone go off when she’s showing dogs, alerting her to problems in her “toy hauler” dog transport vehicle. She checks her iPhone App regularly while working; giving her the assurance the pets she’s been entrusted to care for are safe.”
Fault-Tolerant Sensor Cloud Operation
Cellular Edition is configured to operate through Temperature@
lert’s Sensor Cloud server based monitoring service. For a low monthly fee, the Cellular Edition will transmit data to the secure, reliable servers. Users log onto their Sensor Cloud accounts and set up the alert and messaging parameters. A big bonus for seasonal campers, the service plan can be put in idle status with 30 day’s notice, meaning customers only pay for the months they’re traveling, not the entire year. And there are no long term contracts, cancel at any time.
As Bob Livingston’s MotorHome Magazine article stated and many Temperature@
lert customers have affirmed, the Cellular edition is, “a dandy device for keeping tabs on critical information, providing peace of mind.”
