Tier1 Research: ATM S.A. - a data center leader in the Polish market

Poland as the biggest market within CEE area

The biggest market in the area of East-Central Europe is the Polish market (Warsaw), where clients may use close to 24,000 sq m of colocation space in data centers, which is basically 24% of the overall space available in this part of Europe.

The expected annual rate of growth of this market is 15-20% for the next few years. Factors that are considered crucial when it comes to further growth of data center market in Poland are constant increase of broadband Internet access and wider use of outsourcing. A significant aspect of Polish market that increases its attractiveness is both great availability of high quality colocation space and its competitive price — often 30-40% lower than already established western markets.

ATM S.A. – the leader in the Polish market

According to Tier1 Research, ATM S.A., having at its disposal close to 4,900 sq m net in two data centers in Warsaw (CD ATMAN and Telehouse.Poland), is the biggest provider of colocation services in the Polish market, having moved ahead of i.e. GTS Energis/CE Colo (4,019 sq m) and Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. (4,000 sq m). All those three companies own 56% of overall available colocation space in their data centers, the remaining space belongs to considerably smaller providers: Exatel, HostingCenter, Netia, Warsaw Data Center, PLIX and others. In the report published, ATM investment policy was distinguished and according to Tier1 Research it should considerably strengthen the company’s leading position in the Polish market for the years to come.
