Oct. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Fifteen years ago, the owner of a local maid service in Lewisville, TX, was moved to start cleaning houses free for women undergoing cancer treatment . Fast forward to now, and Buckets & Bows Maid Service owner and Flower Mound, TX resident Debbie Sardone is the founder of a national non-profit that just had Walmart sign on as a sponsor.  Fighting cancer is difficult and this group has been making a difference one home at a time. Now Sardone’s efforts have paid off in a big way as three new major brands have recently pledged their support.

Walmart placed a full page ad in the October 10, 2011 PEOPLE Magazine announcing their sponsorship of Cleaning For A Reason, and in honor of Cancer Awareness, the store is introducing a pink limited edition Swiffer mop. “Walmart at the corporate level never sponsors individual non-profits; This is a first,” according to Sardone.

Look for Sardone’s nonprofit to be featured on the pink Swiffer mop kiosks in Walmart stores during October, which is Cancer Awareness Month.  Limited Edition Swiffers Wet Jets are in all Walmart stores with Cleaning For A Reason logo on the displays! Anyone (18 years or older, void where prohibited) who snaps a photo of the Cleaning For A Reason logo on the Walmart Swiffer display and posts the image on the facebook.com/cleaningforareason wall will be entered into a drawing for free maid service for a year.

In the past year, Cleaning For A Reason also secured sponsorships from Mr. Clean and Hoover. “Walmart was so pleased when they heard about P&G's partnership with Cleaning For A Reason, they decided to sponsor our foundation too. We are very excited about this partnership and believe their help will enable us to help more women,” Sardone said..

What started as a local effort by Sardone to help women who were too sick to clean their homes has blossomed to a foundation that now has nearly 1,000 maid services donating free house cleaning to women under going cancer treatment . So far, over, 1.4 million dollars in free house cleanings have been donated, and over 5,000 women have been helped. In fact, a free cleaning is granted every 90 minutes.  “ I'm very pleased, but not really surprised about the growth.  There's no other nonprofit like Cleaning For A Reason and when a cleaning business owner hears about it, they are very excited about being a part of it,” said the owner of Buckets & Bows Maid Service.

In addition to owning Buckets & Bows Maid Service and working with her non-profit, cleaning business power-house Sardone owns the Speed Cleaning brand as well as the Clean Team Catalog, and KYSO Consulting.

If you know a woman undergoing cancer treatment that would benefit from a free house cleaning, go to the Cleaning  For A Reason web site, www.cleaningforareason.org or their Call Center. Once cancer patients have been verified through their physician, they are matched with local Cleaning  For A Reason partners who will do the actual housecleaning. The parameters of each cleaning are set by each individual cleaning company partner. Typically, they provide four free monthly cleanings while the woman is undergoing treatment.  For more information, call 1-877-337-3348 or visit cleaningforareason.org or bucketsandbows.com.
