Oct. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Canada-based Wireless Industry Partnership (WIP) is working with associations and organizations worldwide to create a comprehensive Mobile Regional Developer Hub Resource for members of the Mobile Industry Ecosystem. To launch this effort, Michigan's MTAM (Mobile Technology Association of Michigan) has been tapped to manage the first Hub which will focus on the State of Michigan. "We are pleased to announce that MTAM, a non-profit trade association for Michigan's mobile / wireless industry, has agreed to manage the first-ever Regional Hub which encompasses the State of Michigan" states WIP CEO, Caroline Lewko.

MTAM Executive Director, Linda Daichendt indicates "We're very honored that Michigan has been selected to become the first Regional Hub that WIP has focused on and that MTAM has been asked to manage the effort. It speaks to the rapid growth of the mobile technology industry in Michigan, and the diversity of mobile development taking place here. We're confident that the WIP Regional Hub will help us spread the 'Michigan mobile' message globally and bring more opportunity for Michigan-based companies, and we look forward to working with WIP on this and other programs."

The Regional Hubs Resource, which was publicly launched at today's CTIA conference in San Diego, is being developed to:

•  Increase national and international exposure for
   - Mobile Associations / Organizations
   - Mobile Developers / Companies
•  Provide information to companies looking for developers
•  Provide information for developers looking for partners and resources
•  Demonstrate that developers / developer companies are located all over the world
•  Highlight economic value of the mobile community.

Each Regional Developer Hub will feature information on the following:

•  Developers / developer companies in the region
•  Mobile resources available (universities, incubators, government funding, investors etc)
•  Statistical data on the mobile industry and the number of developer companies
•  Mobile events taking place in the region
•  Mobile associations and developer groups

Michigan-based mobile developers are encouraged to register on WIP's new Michigan Mobile Hub at http://www.wipconnector.com/directory to more easily allow potential clients and potential partners to locate them for opportunities. There is no charge to be included.
