Oct. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- QUINN-direct has partnered with the largest nationwide driving school in Ireland, the Irish School of Motoring (ISM) to offer customers a number of great benefits. QUINN-direct is offering learner drivers a rebate of €250 off their car insurance once they complete a package of 12 lessons with ISM and as part of this exclusive deal ISM will offer 12 driving lessons at a discounted rate of €395 for QUINN-direct customers.

This new partnership and recent introduction of essential driver training will have a direct link to job creation, in anticipation of the resulting surge in demand for driving lessons ISM will be recruiting up to 45 additional instructors in strategic locations nationwide within the first 12 months.

Commenting on the offer, John McDonagh, Head of Consumer Insurance at QUINN-direct said: “We are delighted to bring this great offer to customers. As a company we greatly value our customers and this is just another way we are offering them value for money. Learning to drive can be an unwelcome expense in these challenging times, with this offer we hope to lessen this expense and make it easier to get learners drivers on the road armed with the necessary knowledge and skills gained through their ISM lessons.”

Parents will particularly welcome this offer, as recent research by QUINN-direct  shows that 93% of adults aged 45-54 years feel their child's employability is improved by having a full driving licence and parents would make every effort to help their child learn to drive. Partnerships like this will help parents achieve this goal.

Adding to this, John Walsh, Managing Director at ISM, said: “After 50 years in the business we are proud to celebrate our birthday with this great offer with QUINN-direct. Over the years it has been our privilege to set thousands of students on the road to being safe and competent motorists. We are delighted with this partnership which will give our learner drivers and QUINN-direct customer’s significant savings on their motor policy and driving lesson package.”

Since 4th of April 2011, new learner permit holders are required to take 12 hours of Essential Driver Training (EDT) with an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) before they can sit a driving test.

The introduction of Essential Driver Training (EDT) is a welcome addition as research by the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has shown that the pass rate increases in line with the more formal hours of driving lessons taken. The research shows that once learners take between 10 and 20 hours of lessons with a qualified instructor, the pass rate increases.

This offer is limited between the dates of 29/07/2011 and 27/12/2011. For further information on the €250 rebate or discounted driving lesson package, log on or call;
