Follow on Google News | Falle’s Tribute to Bootlegging Hooch in the AppalachiansInformation regarding a track off Country Music singer Marty Falle's latest CD, "Redneck Roadrunner."
By: Michael_R_ODonovan Moonshine, predominantly made in the Appalachian mountainside, is a distilled beverage. Because Moonshine is illegal due to its extremely dangerous levels of alcohol, bootlegging became popular as a way to sell the alcohol to those brave enough to consume the original “Mountain Dew.” Coal mining is a way of life in the Appalachians, and many miners got into the act of bootlegging, turning coal mines into moonshine stills. The police caught on, and did their best to outlaw and incarcerate any bootlegger running moonshine. The law didn’t stop these Appalachian rebels, as many of them found ways to outrun the police, including modifying their vehicles so they would drive faster than the federal agent cars. This is how the term “stock cars” came to be and the sport of stock car racing got its start. This brings us to Marty Falle’s story of Ben, doing what he can to outrun the cops, whose sheriff is looking to gun him down. Mr. Falle and his band have done an outstanding job blending an enthralling outlaw story with a gripping country song that will rock you to the core. The intensity of the music’s tone matches the story Marty Falle tells, getting you revved up and never letting you go until the song ends. Marty Falle has been true to his word, producing a third album that would evoke enjoyable and adventurous, yet true stories of “Real America.” This song does not disappoint, as “Ben the Bootlegger” begins with a brief, old-time Appalachian Bluegrass piece to get you in the “hill-billy” If you’d like to see a sample of Country Music singer Marty Falle’s sweet-swinging sound, check out this music video, titled “Hoochie Coochie Gal from the Buckeye State.” The brand new CD, “Redneck Roadrunner,” http://www.youtube.com/ End
