By: harry Take the time to make Social Media Pages. -- I recommend that you create individual social media websites, such as Facebook or MySpace, to drive more traffic. From these sites you can link directly to your blog or website. This is the most tap-able scene right now, as the social networking field is so big and expansive. Use Email to your advantage. -- Email is a great way to stay in touch with your contacts. Be careful not to spam people and only send out emails to those who have signed up for your mailing list. Don't forget to join a forum! -- Forums are great for either talking about your website (don't beg people to visit your site) or using your website link in your signature. Not only will you drive traffic posting about your website, you will drive traffic from others being interested in what your signature talks about. Post up flyers in you local town or city. -- Right now I know for a fact I can walk in to my local grocery store and have one of my flyers put up in the entrance. This may seem like a dinosaur way of marketing online, but remember that this only adds to the amount of traffic you can possibly see. Along with flyers are business cards, regular mail newspaper advertising, etc.... Be creative! Back Linking -- Back linking works well as it will rank you higher in search engines. By posting your website link only on other highly ranked websites, you will see more traffic. It's a pretty simple idea, but it works. You want to have more incoming links than outgoing links on your page. Search Engine Optimization -- I've saved the tougher one for last, SEO. Most people, when they search online, use one or two different search engines. So in order for your site to be found, it needs to be "optimized" with these search engines. It has to do with where your website ranks based on traffic and how popular the keywords of your website are. While the use of paid ads works, not everyone trying to start their business or website wants to fork out money on expensive advertising. Thanks for taking the time to read and I wish you luck increasing the traffic to your site.
