Sept. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- "There's No Place Like Home" is the City of Manassas 2011 Housing Event, happening on Sat., Oct. 15 from 10 am to 4 pm at Osbourn High School, 9005 Tudor Lane, Manassas and sponsored by Bank of America, Fannie Mae and Wells Fargo.  The event is free.

This is a great opportunity to talk directly to a Certified Housing Counselor and learn about the various programs that can help you with concerns about your mortgage.

Whether your mortgage is behind, you are concerned that you can no longer pay your mortgage, or you have questions about the current value of your house, representatives from Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Fannie Mae will be available and ready to meet with you and to answer any questions you may have. Also, you will be able to meet with certified housing counselors who work in the Manassas area and who are ready to assist you with your concerns. The event will offer an opportunity for parents to learn about their rights under the McKinney Vento Homeless Education Act of 2001. This important Act guarantees access to a free public education for children and youth who are experiencing homelessness.

The event offers a great opportunity to our senior and disabled residents to come and learn about ways to make their home more comfortable to their changing lifestyle. Presentations will offer not only building and remodeling information, but also information about the Living Tax Credit and other programs that may help you as you age.

The City of Manassas is offering six different presentations. Each presentation will last approximately one hour and will end with an opportunity for you to ask questions and become involved with the presentation.   The presentations are, "What Families Need to Know," "Making Your Home Accessible as You Age," "Recognizing Mortgage Scams," "Foreclosure Prevention," "Foreclosure and Its Affect on Children" and "Legal Aspects of Foreclosure."
