Former Pixar Artist Joins BluFire Studios

Sept. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Orem, Utah – September 22, 2011 — BluFire Studios announces that Chris Wells, formerly with Pixar Studios, has joined the BluFire Studios visual effects team. BluFire Studios is one of the fastest growing Media and Production companies in Utah.  Mr Wells is the latest in a series of team additions that has doubled BluFire Studios’ personnel size in the past two years and has resulted in their third location move due to increasing demand for office and production space.

“Before Chris joined our team we were turning business away because we were simply too busy with the amount of work that was coming in.” says Cammon Randle, Co-Founder of BluFire Studios. “Having Chris is allowing us to continue to expand our services and attract new business.”

Mr. Wells brings extensive visual effects skills and experience to BluFire Studios. His latest project at Pixar was working on Toy Story 3.

Founded in 2007 by Matt Hoffman and Cammon Randle, BluFire Studios has become one of Utah’s largest full service Visual Effects and Production House.

BluFire Studios’ growth has come about due to the increased accessibility of visual effects for use by small film companies, corporations, and other organizations looking to use high-end video for marketing and training purposes.

“In the past, the cost of creating visual effects was prohibitive for smaller organizations,” said Cammon. “But today, with the combination of less expensive software/hardware and a new generation of skilled workers, you can create high-end videos and movies at a fraction of the former cost. Companies are finding that very appealing.”

Mr Randle is one of the new generation of skilled workers, having been named one of Businessweek’s Top 25 Entrepreneurs under 25 in 2006. Today he and Mr Hoffman lead a firm with a dozen employees who are creating a new generation of video and film processes.

“We have had a lot of success that has come from being in the right place at the right time. Our roots are here in Utah County. We like to think we are creating our own little ‘Valleywood’” says Cammon
