Midtown Throwdown 2 - Mixed Martial Arts Cages Fights - October 1st

Sept. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Benjamin Scoggins and Midtown MMA present the Midtown Throwdown 2 to Eugene, Oregon on October 1st.  Following the success of Midtown Throwdown 1 in June, 2011, the company will have another round of MMA fights at the Lane County Fairgrounds in the Events Center. The show will feature Oregon’s first sanctioned Muay Thai fight and a full slate of mixed martial arts bouts including a professional middleweight contest.

The Muay Thai fight will feature Eugene favorite, Renato Guinn Aquino and challenger Sam Poulton of Tacoma, WA.  Muay Thai sanctioned events follow different rules than mixed martial art bouts and offer MMA aficionados a change of pace.  The 140 lb. fighters are scheduled to fight 4 rounds, however, if a winner is not declared at the end of 4 rounds the fight will continue until the judges declare a winner.

The co-main event, a professional MMA rematch between Levi Kurtovich (2-1) of Midtown MMA in Springfield and Donnie Evenson (6-3) fighting for Northwest Training Center in Springfield, brings back to Eugene these two exciting middleweight contestants.  The two fought in June when Donnie won via armbar.  These two warriors are training furiously as they look forward to another war.

Tickets are available on-line at MidtownMMA.com and at Midtown MMA, 2600 Main Street in Springfield and Cry Baby Ink inside Valley River Center.  Advanced purchase prices for reserved seating is $60 for 1st row, $50 for 2nd row, and $40 for 3rd row.  Tickets for rows 4-7 without reserved seats are $30 and General Admission is $25.  All ticket prices increase $5 on fight day. The Lane Fairgrounds Event Center is located at 796 West 13th St. in Eugene. Adequate parking is available for all fight goers.  The Event Center concession stand offers a comprehensive snack and drink menu including a beer garden. Doors open at 6pm and fights start at 7pm.
