SARTA Presents Panel Views on Evolving Trends and Developments in Biofuels

Sept. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- In anticipation of the fifth annual Sacramento Clean Tech Showcase, a pre-conference webinar is being held to discuss the importance of advanced biofuels, California’s new rules on carbon reduction in vehicles and the Million Gallon Challenge.   This topic will be one of several covered in depth at the upcoming Showcase Monday, October 24th, at the Sacramento State Union.

The webinar panelists include Gary Simon, Chairman of SARTA’s CleanStart Program and a partner in Velocity Venture Capital; Tim Taylor, Manager of the Land Use, Communications and Mobile Source Division at the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District (SMAQMD); and Michael Theroux , California Registered Environmental Health Specialist and Editor of Teru Talk.    The panelists will discuss Sacramento’s new goal to pioneer a switch from oil to biofuels; as part of the broad-based regional Greenwise initiative, the region set an objective to buy significant volumes of these new biofuels to get them into wide commercial use and to build a local biofuels industry.
