Facebook Wins Nobel Prize For Covering Up Privacy Issues, and Abuse of User Information.

Sept. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- ONLYMEWORLD.COM -- Facebook is everywhere you go on the web today.  Regardless of whether you like or dislike Facebook, no one can argue Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook have come a long way from their humble beginnings out of a Harvard college dorm room.  

It seems that with success comes criticism, as a growing number of Facebook critics, military, privacy advocate groups, and even wall street are outraged over the handling of users’ information, security, privacy, and also involving themselves with data mining, web tracking and facial recognition software.  

Most critics and so-called private alternative social networking sites today complain Facebook collects users’ information and sells it to advertisers making billions of dollars. Although these things should be reason for concern, the sale of people’s information to advertisers and companies has gone on long before Facebook and will continue long after...“Nothing Is For Nothing.”

The real issues people should be concerned about is how much information Facebook and other social networking sites are collecting about them “Knowingly” and “Unknowingly”, how this information is being used by “Cyber Criminals” and “Law Enforcement”, and how all this information someday can be used in a “Positive” and or “Negative” way?

Why No Real Names & No Email Addresses?  Regardless of what sites promise regarding security, any site can be hacked.  (An example would be: governments, banks, and law enforcement agencies who all have so called state-of-the-art online security systems).  With a Real Name, Email Address, and Date of Birth a cyber criminal could wreak havoc on your personal & financial life.

Facebook and other social networking sites are working on better privacy settings, but does this address the real issues about protecting their users’ privacy rights and information?  Whether Facebook controls your information, or you control your own information, your information is still in a database, which can be used “Knowingly” and “Unknowingly”, and can be hacked.

Should you be worried about all the information Facebook and other social networking sites are collecting about its users?  With all the information Facebook and other social networking sites are collecting about its users, facial recognition software, data mining, and web tracking, if used in a “Positive” way could help “Law Enforcement” agencies throughout the world combat crime, help “Government” agencies end poverty & disease, and perhaps create a socio/economic equality.  If used in a “Negative” way, the United States and other countries would cease to exist as we would all be ruled by a “Totalitarian” government, with little to no freedoms, no privacy rights, and sadly a social class of only “Rich” and “Poor”, as everyone will be automatically “Profiled” and “Controlled” by computers.

ONLYMEWORLD offers a platform similar to Facebook, Google+, Linkedin, and Twitter, yet differs in their approach to Privacy Rights, Anonymity, and Protection from Cyber Crime.  People are able to social network with some privacy & anonymity, yet effectively and confidently.
