Jeffrey Philip Nelson's latest release "Badder Times" proves to be reflective sequences of songs

After working in the construction industry, the economy took a turn for the worst.  Jeffrey Philip Nelson decided at that time to focus more on his music that he’s been working on since high school.  At the age of 25, he locked himself up in his apartment for a few weeks and wrote his debut CD titled “Could This Be….”.  During this time period, he realized that the music industry was a very difficult career to break into, but that didn’t stop him.  He began to work on another CD that would make Los Angeles music scene stand on its head.  He titled this new CD “Badder Times” .  Jeffrey got the attention that he’s been looking for.  The CD hit the streets back on March 18, 2011 and it’s had many great reviews.

“Badder Times” lead single is “Bad Times” is part of a sequence of songs that reflect his life.  The single is about people who are hurting and losing at everything, but the theme is hopeful; with hope for the future, a better economical forecast and better relations to follow.  This single has a very nice ‘traveling’ pace to it.  The guitar, drums keep a rhythm of a timeless traveler who’s telling his tale that the title of the CD proposes.  One of many common threads that run through Jeffrey’s music is the balance between the good and the bad in each one of us with a lingering question whether there is something bigger than this out there; a question that cannot be answered.  He continues his journey through his songs in this CD that ache for life’s true meaning as “his soul cries out for mercy for the wrongs he has committed”, states Jeffrey.

Writing this CD must have been cathartic for him.  With this acoustic driven songs using the lap steel guitar in a few songs, Jeffrey Philip Nelson captures the deeper side of his audiences giving way to self discovery and thought provoking issues.  He does this with grace, intellect, and amazing talent. His music is therapy for the soul.  

Jeffrey Philip Nelson is in the midst of touring Los Angeles during the summer of 2011 with at least 10 shows with a ‘band’ of friends.   He will be playing at The House of Blues Thursday, September 22nd in Anaheim, Ca.  at 10:15pm. He will be playing in the Voodoo Lounge.  For those who love live music, he’s a must see.  He’s a great live performer.
