PRLog -- Saint Paul’s College will hold its annual Fall Convocation on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Saint Paul’s College Memorial Chapel. Reverend Lennox Yearwood, Jr. will serve as the speaker.
Yearwood received a Doctor of Divinity degree from Saint Paul’s College during its 123rd annual Commencement Exercises. Yearwood received his undergraduate degree from the University of the District of Columbia and his Master of Divinity from Howard University.
Yearwood is founder of The Hip Hop Caucus (HHC), a national, non-profit organization in the United States, which aims to promote political activism for young U.S. voters using hip-hop music and culture. Yearwood has worked with celebrities and athletes to engage them in projects that transform communities. He was the co-creator of the 2001 campaign “Vote or Die” with Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and a Senior Consultant to Jay Z’s “Voice Your Choice” campaign. During the 2004 Presidential elections he created the first ever Hip Hop Team Vote Bus Tour alongside Russell Simmons and Jonathan Lewis. Yearwood is currently helping Al Gore launch his new climate effort – Climate Reality Project. The Project will launch on Sept 14 and 15 in New York (and around the globe).
