Follow on Google News | WPAR Rocks the Boat for RPACThe Westchester Putnam Association of Realtors hosts a Fall Sunset Cruise on the Hudson River as its last big RPAC Fundraising Event for 2011.
By: WPAR The cruise will mark the final fundraising event of the year for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC). The boat will depart from Peekskill’s Riverfront Green Park for a chartered cruise to West Point and back, offering a complimentary cocktail, appetizers and a cash bar. Free parking is also available at Riverfront Green. Proceeds from the event will be donated to RPAC, a national organization that lobbies for the interests of REALTORS® and homeowners. Most recently, RPAC helped to successfully lobby in Albany for the two percent property tax cap bill, which passed in June. Ongoing legislative items that RPAC is advancing include: • Transparency in co-op housing during the co-op board process, including reason for rejection and a 45-day deadline for a response • Opposing the elimination of the school STAR deduction • Eliminating new local transfer taxes, and more.
