YMCA Preschool and Childcare Programs Taking Sign-Ups in Conejo, Moorpark, Simi & Santa Rosa Valley

Parents can sign up their preschool and elementary-aged children for YMCA fall childcare programs through the Southeast Ventura County YMCA branches.
 
Aug. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CALIF.--Parents can sign up their preschool and elementary-aged children for YMCA fall childcare programs through the Southeast Ventura County YMCA branches serving the Conejo Valley, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Santa Rosa Valley, Westlake Village, Oak Park and Agoura Hills.

   Before and after school curriculums include sports, nutrition, creative play, arts and crafts, games, academics and values (respect, honesty, caring and responsibility). The Y programs are state-licensed and there is always staff on duty who are CPR/First Aid certified. "Parents know that their children are in a safe, stimulating environment," says Stacey Huff, childcare director at the Simi Y.   

   The Triunfo YMCA, which serves Westlake Village, Oak Park and Agoura Hills, offers childcare at Yerba Buena, Sumac, Willow and White Oak elementary schools.

   The Conejo Valley YMCA provides childcare in Moorpark and Thousand Oaks at three schools:  Mountain Meadows Elementary and Peach Hill Academy in Moorpark and at MATES (Meadows Arts and Technology Elementary School) in Thousand Oaks.

   The Simi Valley Family YMCA childcare is available at Abraham Lincoln, Arroyo, Atherwood, Berylwood, Big Springs, Hollow Hills, Justin, Katherine, Santa Susana, Simi, Sycamore and White Oak elementary schools.

   Transportation to and from additional schools to YMCA childcare sites is provided based on demand. Extended hours, part time and full time care is available.


   "At the Y, children learn how to be their best selves," says Jennifer Silveria, Conejo Y childcare director. "The values and social skills they learn provide an excellent foundation for their teen years and beyond."

   Full time and part time preschool is available at the Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park and at Royal High School in Simi Valley. Programs are for children ages 2 1/2 to 5 years. Besides an introduction to academics, technology and art, students build independence, self-esteem and confidence in social situations.
