Aug. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- It is appropriate to make tungsten very suitable for TIG welding and other similar electrode materials such work. Mixed with rare earth metal oxides by which can stimulate its electronic work function, electrode welding performance of tungsten can be improved: better performance from arc electrodes, a higher arc stability, and electrode burning rate smaller. Usually there are several rare earth cerium oxide additives: lanthanum oxide, zirconium oxide, yttrium oxide and thorium oxide and so on.

Tungsten electrodes for TIG welding, which is in powder metallurgy tungsten matrix method by incorporation of 0.3% -5% of the rare earth elements such as: cerium, thorium, lanthanum, zirconium, yttrium, etc., made of tungsten alloy, and then through pressure processing, the diameter from 0.25 to 6.4mm, The standard length ranges from 75 to 600, while in the most commonly used specifications , the diameter ranges are 1.0,1.6,2.4 and 3.2, the shape of electrode  of the TIG power is a critical factor. When we use DCSP, the electrodes are required to be grinded into extreme tip shape and its angle is required to change with the cutting-edge applications, electrode diameter, and welding current. You need low small current with the smallest electrode which is in needle point shape when welding very thin materials, to stable the arc. And proper grounding electrode can ensure easy arc, good arc stability and appropriate weld width. When you use AC power to the welding, you don’t have to grind the electrode, because when we use  appropriate welding current, electrode  will form a shape of  half -ball, if you increase the current in welding, the electrode would turn into  bulb-like shape and will melt which would pollute the melt gold.
