| Kenny Peck releases two Pop CD'sKenny Peck brings you two new CD's "Naked Jack" and "Country Jack"
By: A & R Select Kenneth Irving Peck (K.I.P.), Kip is a lifelong nickname and people who have known him in his life always knew him as an easy going kind of guy. Back then he performed theater & musical theater, performed alone and with others in live or recorded music and musical comedy. It was when his father purchased a Harmony guitar in 1961 that attracted him to the sounds of bluegrass, folk and music of that genre. In 1966 Kenny published his first song titled “My Angel Eyes”. Smoky Jack, Inc. is the name of Kenny Peck’s publishing company. It is also the name of the band that he started back in 1970’s. He’s released a series of albums such as the 1990’s called KIP: From the Book Volumes 1 through 4. He also released “From the Book – Vol. 1 Smoky Jack Lives” which went onto Tune Core in 2008. Smoky Jack was the name of his all original music. Sometimes his band would perform with and for are Dave Mason, Papa John Creech, Gino Vanelli, Flash Cadillac, Linda Rondstadt, and Sha Na Na. Smoky Jack toured the Northwest, Canada and Alaska as a musical comedy duo called "The Special K" and since then has been writing and recording, refining and defining one of the most beautiful gifts to give, the gift of song. There are two pop CD’s that are being released in August, 2011; one being “Naked Jack” and the other, a country CD called “Country Jack”. Off of this latter CD, single “My Dad & I” leads the way. It was written and played for his father 2 years prior to his death in December, 2009. The storyline behind this single is about brothers who go fishing and talk about how their father helped them and was there for them when they needed his guidance. He sets examples for his audience to hear that they would use in their lives today. Part of the pleasure of listening to his particular CD is the traditional 2-step; a natural in-the-room feel to it. This song has a traditional emotion attached to it as it is significant when performed/played during the holidays as it is during Father’s Day. Kenny Pack is also a veteran and dedicates this particular song to those father’s that lost their lives in service to our country. He writes of human emotion, the human condition, family, friends and the relationships that begin and dwell in this type of surrounding. Whether it be joyful or sorrowful, whether sung at a funeral or birthday, it has a certain sweetness to it; a bitter/sweet inter-meshing that happens. It is one of his most requested songs, it has been popular at most digital storefronts. “My Dad & I” is by far, the most representative of this wonderful folk singer style and personality. With the release of 2011 of 3 CD’s, “Naked Jack”, which will be released in August, 2011, “Country Jack” which will be released in October, 2011 or a comedy CD titled “A Fun Night with Kip & Karen” which will be recorded and filmed live before Christmas 2011, there is no doubt that his music will tug at your heart strings. “I’ve waited all my life for this dream to shed light. I have a huge book of work and look forward to exposing it to the music community. I have been touted as a prolific songwriter through the years. I am a Vietnam Vet, san in the Blue Jacket Choir and have been playing and singing since the ‘60’s in a variety of bands doing cover and original songs…dating myself a bit, aren’t I?” Not at all, Kenny.
