Follow on Google News | ![]() Ergo-Motion Consulting Flexes Its Benevolent Muscles for Piano PinnacleA company that strives to make workplaces safer, Ergo-Motion Consulting turns to help the local musicians by supporting the performance of Piano Pinnacle, a duo of pianists.
Pianists Deborah Grimmett, and Iman Habibi are local musicians with much success on the international scene, the latest in Verona, Italy. Of all participants, they were the only Canadian team to make it to the second round. Named the Piano Pinnacle, these two pianists will perform works for piano duo (two pianos, four hands), by Mozart, Brahms, Arensky, and Rachmaninoff, as well as ten brand new Canadian compositions prepared specifically for these two pianists. Ergo-Motion Consulting supports local communities by giving back in the areas that clients and employees live. Support is given in form of time, cash donations, and additional gifts. This support is given in four focus areas of health care, education, community service/events and local volunteering. The upcoming recital by Piano Pinnacle provided Ergo-Motion Consulting is an opportunity seized in order to continue supporting community programs as well as provide support to two talented musicians as they perform locally and compete internationally. Piano Pinnacle found its roots in 2006, when Deborah Grimmett and Iman Habibi gathered to perform a number of four-hand duets in joint piano and chamber recitals. The two musicians then went on to complete their studies, and have now joined forces again as a duo team. In their official debut as Piano Pinnacle, they won Third Prize, and The Audience Choice Award at the 2010 International Northwest Piano Ensemble Competition, and have since received much recognition and praise for their collaboration. The duo team have been selected as the only Canadian team to take part in the second round of the 15th International Music Tournament (TIM 2012) in Verona, Italy. The two pianists work under the guidance and mentorship of one of the most accomplished piano duos Kenneth Broadway and Ralph Markham. The repertoire will include: Mozart - Sonata for two pianos in D major, K.448 Arensky - Suite No. 1, op. 15 Brahms - Variations on St. Anthony Chorale (commonly known as Variations on a Theme by Haydn) Rachmaninoff - Russian Rhapsody Additionally, the following ten Canadian works were selected to be performed as a result of Piano Pinnacle's 2011 nationwide call for scores: John Baker - Four Beads John Alexander Blyth - Duo Urge Diane Chouinard - Duo Scherzino Craig Day - Off to the Races Frank Levin - Taraval Street Rag James O'Callaghan - Aquifer John Oliver - Birds at Play on a Sunny Windy Day Martin Ritter - Overdrive Drew Redman - Clothed to Naked Eye Saman Shahi - Nasim Please join Ergo-Motion Consulting on Saturday, August 27 to welcome Piano Pinnacle to the stage, to support the local artists. # # # Ergo-Motion Consulting provides ergonomic assessments and interventions to companies and individuals in Canada.
