Hispanic Counseling Center Campers Treated To Summer Field Trip Sponsored By Bethpage

Aug. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Bethpage, New York – August 2, 2011 – Campers from the Hispanic Counseling Center’s Summer Camp Program went on a summer field trip recently at the Cradle of Aviation Museum where they were treated to a day of discovery and exploration.  The field trip was sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union, a community partner of the Hispanic Counseling Center and the Cradle of Aviation Museum.  

While at the Cradle, campers watched a presentation of Jean-Michel’s Cousteau’s SHARKS film in the museum’s IMAX theatre, as well as a guided museum tour where the campers explored Long Island’s roots in American aviation and space adventure.  

“The Hispanic Counseling Center is a multi-service agency that provides bilingual treatment and prevention services for chemical dependency, mental illness, and many youth and family programs,” said Mary Porter, Development Director at Hispanic Counseling Center.  “Our six-week summer program provides daily recreational and cultural activities and field trips for children ages 7 to 12.  We are thankful to Bethpage for helping support today’s field trip.”

The field trip was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Ever Martinez, Community Relationship Manager at Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Claudia M. Boyle, Youth and Family Program Coordinator at Hispanic Counseling Center, and Andy Parton, Executive Director for Cradle of Aviation Museum.
