Finca Olga Maria is certified with Global Gap

Aug. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- The banana farm Olga María continues certified with Global Gap and Rainforest Alliance. Global Gap is a certification that awards those companies that implement good agricultural practices, which contribute to the quality of the product they offer; the health care to their workers and the environmental protection.

For consumers and distributors, GlobalGAP certificate is a guarantee that food meets the established levels of quality and safety, and that have been prepared on sustainability criteria, respecting the health, safety and welfare of workers; the environment  and respect for animals.

Olga Maria farm has always been known to meet the demands of their customers and reassure clients about the way it carries out the production process. That is why in addition to the Global Gap certification, the farm has the Rainforest Alliance, ensuring that products and services are produced in a socially, economically and environmentally sustainable.

The Rainforest Alliance is a non-governmental organization (NGO) with the published aims of working to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. It is based in New York City, and has offices throughout the United States and worldwide.
