Who is the next Jeff Beck and is he in Bulgaria?

July 30, 2011 - PRLog -- If you know the music industry well or are just a fan of rock music then you know who Jeff Beck is. The shades wearing, skinny pant electric guitar virtuoso & Rock god with a scarf around his neck who has played with some of the biggest names you can fathom. From Jimmy Page to Sting to BB King, Jeff Beck has quite a rock resume; rocksume. In 2009 he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and has played with the best because he himself is one of the best pair of hands to ever touch a Fender Strat.

In this crazy digitized world of iPad apps & Guitar Hero geeks, who can we trust to take the reigns as the next great guitar virtuoso? From Santana, Jimmy Page & Jeff Beck of the 60’s & 70’s to Slash of the 80’s and maybe Dave Navarro of the 90’s there seems to be few guitarists out there who can be compared to the caliber of these Rock legends.

Ariel Records, an independent record label based in Los Angeles, CA, claims to have found such a guitar talent, but he’s all the way in Sofia, Bulgaria. His name is Hristo Kirilov, and like the aforementioned Jeff Beck, Hristo has a very unique style, both in guitar play, his fashion sense and he can riff! He is also a composer, blending an eclectic selection of musical influences into original and colorful melodies.

Since 1996 Hristo has been collaborating with prominent European and Russian musicians as a composer and songwriter.  In 2006 Hristo recorded an album titled ‘Music’ with songs in English, Bulgarian and Russian.  Hristo’s performances at Moscow’s biggest venues, such as The Kremlin Concert Hall and Luzhniki, have been met with considerable acclaim.

Grammy Academy voting member and President of Ariel Records, Zinovy Shersher, stated that “Hristo’s original style is unmistakable and so are his arrangements” he also stated that the first time he saw Hristo on stage, he knew that he was “A Grammy worthy guitar player”. This year Ariel Records has signed Kirilov with plans to have him tour throughout Europe, Asia and eventually here in the States.
