As is usual graphite and steel shaft options are both available for these Callaway Big Bertha Diablo irons. The models we tested were fitted with the Nippon N.S. Pro 1100 GH steel shafts, so performance could differ slightly in Diablo irons equipped with a graphite shaft.

Despite being aimed at mostly lower handicap golfers, these irons are designed and weighted in a way that's suppost to keep the club more solid at impact, thus not too difficult to hit.And 9 times out of 10 this is the case, off the fairway these irons were very solid and reliable, even from the longer 3 iron up through to the wedges.

Although we found these irons to not be as forgiving as other Callaway irons such as the X-22s, the Diablos were definitely easier to work. Fading and Drawing the ball can be done with equal ease with these clubs, in the capable hands of a competent player. Although mis-hit shots will definitely be punished accordingly, as really should be the case in clubs that are made for the better player.
