Solid wood flooring sales expected to rise

July 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Flooring industry insiders are expecting that the sales of hardwood flooring such as natural oak flooring and oak wood flooring will continue to rise over the next few months.  

A survey was carried out whereby people working in the oak flooring industry were asked a wide range of questions to do with the field.  And one of the most positive messages to come out of the survey was the predicted rise in the popularity of solid wood flooring.  

A trend was identified regarding the sales of solid real wood floors gradually increasing back in 2009, which has continued through 2010 and it’s expected that this will carry on through 2011 too.

The industry survey was compiled and completed by an industry trade magazine, and has bought not only good news for the flooring industry, but also the economy as a whole.  The recession we are currently experiencing in the UK has had a significant effect on each industry, as well as the flooring industry.

As the economy is starting to gradually become more stable, replacing or installing wooden floors is expected to be an area people will start to prioritise. Its believed that this is primarily due to the long term financial gains of a property being fitted with a solid oak floor over other types of flooring such as carpeting, tiles or linoleum.

For many years, real wooden floors have been considered a wise investment in a property as opposed to other home improvements.  In choosing a real wood floor for your property you can rest assured that it is money well spent, as buildings fitted with high quality wood floors often secure higher asking prices than those with other types of flooring at the point of sale.

There are also other advantages in choosing to have a real wood floor fitted; whereby their beauty can last for hundreds of years provided you clean them and maintain them properly on a regular basis due to their durability.

One of the main reasons people are put off of installing solid wood flooring in their homes is because they have pets, as they believe that the animals will scratch and ruin the look of the floor.
