APT Hosts Seminar on Latest Developments of Milastomer in the Automotive Industry

July 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Advanced Polymer Trading (APT), an international trading company specialising in the world wide trade of rubber, plastics and petrochemicals, is pleased to announce the success of an educational seminar, it conducted in co-operation with Mitsui Chemicals, on the latest developments of Milastomer in the automotive industry.

Milastomer is Mitsui's Thermoplastic Olefinic Elastomer which is particularly suited for the automotive industry where it is used for interior trims including dash boards and doors.

The customer seminar covered a variety of topics including:

- Milastomer for automotive sealing profiles applications as a replacement for EPDM rubber.
- Milastomer for automotive instrument panel skins.
- Milastomer for airbag covers.

Unlike traditional rubber, Milastomer does not need compounding or vulcanization by the end user and every grade of Milastomer can be molded or extruded similar to polyethylene and polypropylene. Also like PVC, Milastomer has excellent moldability when processed on calendering machines.
