July 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Goodlettsville based entertainment producer John Pyka publicly donated his company’s resources to help raise money and save the Pleasant Green Community Pool at the July 14th meeting of the Goodlettsville City Commissioner’s meeting.

Earlier this year, the Goodlettsville City Commissioners voted to close Pleasant Green by not including funding in the budget for the next fiscal year, despite monies being available in the budget. This has sparked outrage among many in the community and deeply saddened others.

On Thursday July 14th in a meeting of the City Commissioners, John B. Pyka, owner of the John Pyka Productions stood to verbally oppose the measure and called for the participation of other area business to donate resources, time, and talent to create a private/public partnership to keep this vital piece of the community open.

“I’ll be the first to put my money where my mouth is” Pyka told the Commissioners and citizens gathered at the meeting, “and I call upon any other business people in this room to do the same thing.”

As a part of this effort, Mr. Pyka has donated his resources and expertise to create revenue generating events at Pleasant Green, as well as creating and executing an aggressive media marketing campaign for the Pleasant Green pool.

John Pyka is the owner of John Pyka Productions, an entertainment and event producer that specializes in live entertainment for theaters, dinner theaters, cruise ships, casinos, corporate and civic event. Publicly, John is most well known as his alter ego “Big Daddy Cool” Johnny Dellarocca. As a producer in Nashville John has partnered with dozens of theater and entertainment venues, including Opry Mills Mall to create several ongoing entertainment series and special events in the mall’s Entertainment Court. In most cases he oversaw the marketing of the events as well. Most notable among these was the annual Black Friday Balloon Drop with the Radio City Rockettes, and The Houdini Underwater Torture Cell Challenge featuring Jason Michaels -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGy9urWoqHU.

“Pleasant Green isn’t just a pool,” said Pyka. “Pleasant Green is a unique community gathering place that has, and continues to shape the soul of Goodlettsville. It is the heart of this community, and for my family and the 1000s more in this community, I will fight for this.” John Pyka will be presenting a comprehensive plan of action to the Goodlettsville City Commissioners on Thursday July 28th. The plan of action will include a public/private partnership that will aggressively target local businesses to invest in the project. “This is just the beginning. Get ready” said Pyka.
