This year the festivities continue with Mr. Harvey hosting the 9th Annual Hoodie Awards which begins on Thursday, August 11th and runs through Sunday, August 14th. The awards show will be held at the Mandalay Bay Theater in Las Vegas and is surrounded by a variety of special events, including a special performance by Danny Clay during the Midnight Comedy Jam on August 12th.

Mr. Steve Harvey has hosted this prestigious event for the past eight years and continues the tradition with this 9th annual awards show which kicks off at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday, August 11, 2011 with special events running through Sunday, August 14, 2011.

This spectacular awards show was created to honor businesses and professionals that stand out in service to their communities. Nominations from across the country are submitted for such honors as the Best Fried Chicken, Best Car Wash, Best Community Leader, Best Beauty Salon, Best High School Teacher and other fun, community-serving categories.

Those attending this year’s festivities can enjoy such events as State Farm’s Singing Hoodie Finals hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, the Outback Steakhouse Live Broadcast of The Steve Harvey Morning Show, the Hillshire Farm Freedom Friday Party, an exclusive screening of the inspiring new movie, “From the Rough”, the Official Ford VIP After Party following the awards show, the charity Steve Harvey Foundation Annual Golf Tournament and a super sexy Charity Beach Party held Sunday night to wrap things up.

A special Luther Vandross Tribute will be performed by the sensational Danny Clay during the Midnight Comedy Jam on the night of August 12, 2011. Danny’s sensational talent was discovered by Nephew Tommy during an event on The Steve Harvey Morning Show. Danny has since released a national single entitled “Foolish Pride”, and his acting talent was discovered when the iconic stage and film producer/director, Tyler Perry cast him in running stage hit “Madea’s Big Happy Family”. Danny Clay was also the featured performer in the 2007 Hoodie Awards.
