Four year old Darian Jones first dream child for Dream Factory of Middle TN

Four year old Darian Jones, battling life threatening neurological illness, becomes The Dream Factory of Middle Tennessee’s first dream child

July 6, 2011 - PRLog -- American Airlines is making Nashville dreams come true, both for the little boy who is going to visit Mickey Mouse in September, and for The Dream Factory of Middle Tennessee who has the wheels set in motion to grant their first dream.  The newest chapter of The Dream Factory, the second largest wish granting organization in the United States, was established in May and has attracted over 50 volunteers to make dreams come true for critically ill and chronically ill children ages 3-18 within 50 miles of Nashville, TN.

The first Dream Factory of Middle Tennessee dream child, Darian Jones (age 4) of Madison, TN, will be going on an all expense paid trip on September 16th, 2011, to Give Kids the World in Central Florida, sponsored by volunteers from American Airlines.  American Airlines annually sponsors 30 families for this opportunity; ten of these children being from the 38 chapters of The Dream Factory.  Each family will be given a celebration at their departing airport; a second celebration awaits them in Orlando.  Give Kids the World is a 70 acre nonprofit storybook resort where children with critical illnesses and their families can experience Central Florida’s most beloved attractions at no cost to the family.

The Dream Factory of Middle Tennessee was a brand new chapter when this opportunity was announced this year, yet was the second Dream Factory chapter to successfully identify a qualifying dream child who both had a life threatening illness and who could travel on the date of September 16th.  Meharry Medical Group Pediatrics and particularly Dr. Suzanne Tropez-Sims were instrumental in helping The Dream Factory identify Darian and his family for mAAgicflight 2011.

Darian was a healthy 2 year old when he began having neurological issues, and now at 4 he cannot talk or walk.  As Meharry and Dr. Tropez-Sims work diligently to find the mystery illness debilitating Darian, American Airlines and The Dream Factory of Middle Tennessee hope to bring a smile to Darian’s face as he meets his beloved Mickey Mouse.  Dream Factory volunteers meeting with Darian’s family were delighted to find that Darian’s entire room is decorated with Mickey.  The dream screening committee was so inspired by Darian and his family, who show such courage and love for each other in the face of adversity.  Dream Factory of Middle Tennessee is proud to have Darian as their first dream child, and give thanks to American Airlines mAAgicflight 2011 for making their dreams, and Darian’s dreams, come true.
