The Gramon Family of Schools Holds Commencement Ceremony

Paterson Public Schools Vice Principal, Derwin Smith, Gives Keynote Address
 
June 29, 2011 - PRLog -- The Gramon School and Glenview Academy, providing individualized and innovative programs to address the special needs of students with behavioral disabilities, held a commencement ceremony on Thursday, June 16th in Fairfield. Derwin Smith, Vice Principal of Roberto Clemente School in Paterson, was the keynote speaker for the event.

Honored at the ceremony were the 12th grade graduates of the Gramon School and the 8th grade Glenview Academy students who are advancing to the High School level. The students from the Gramon Family of Schools are from districts throughout northern New Jersey.

“Each of you should be proud of your perseverance and devotion to success, which have impressed all of us at Gramon and Glenview,” said Lisa DeFlora, Director of the Gramon Family of Schools. “The dedication and diligence you have shown here have prepared you for the next step in your journey.”

The 12th grade graduates of the Gramon School are

The seniors each received a certificate of completion from Gramon and receive official diplomas from their home school districts.

The 8th grade Glenview Academy students moving on to High School are:

•   Daquan Moore
•   Kelsey Morales
•   Raequan Parker
•   Joshua Ramos
•   Adael Rojas
•   Rashi Stone

“We are proud to celebrate the achievements and hard work of the students at all of our schools,” said Kalle Gerritz, Executive Director of the Gramon Family of Schools. “They have each made significant progress in achieving their academic and personal goals and we wish them continued success in their future endeavors.”

The Gramon Family of Schools originated with one school in 1939, serving adolescents and young adults with special needs. Glenview Academy opened in 1984 with the recognition that intervention is more effective when a child’s developmental problems are addressed as early as possible. With rising incidences of children diagnosed on the autism spectrum, the Gramon Family of Schools opened New Beginnings and New Beginnings Annex to provide programs to address these critical needs.
