Attorney Gary M. Farmer Installed As President-Elect of the Florida Justice Association

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Attorney Gary Farmer (http://www.pathtojustice.com/attorneys/Gary/Farmer/) of Farmer, Jaffe, Weissing, Edwards, Fistos & Lehrman was installed as President-Elect of the Florida Justice Association’s Executive Committee during their 2011 Justice Ball on Friday, June 17 at The Breakers Palm Beach in Palm Beach.

Gary Farmer is an active member of FJA and is an EAGLE Founder. EAGLE members take the critical but necessary step from being a member of the FJA to being a leader and an advocate for public service, setting an example and leaving their mark to protect access to Florida’s courts.

Attorney Farmer is an active lobbyist who works only on consumer protections and access to court issues. For the several years, he has spent six to seven weeks volunteering as a lobbyist in Tallahassee for the Florida Justice Association (FJA). Business and money control politics and, by extension, the legislative process. The FJA is the only organization in Florida whose sole purpose is to protect access to the courts and preserve legal protections for consumers. Gary Farmer takes great pride in his dedication to the FJA and the constitutional protections for which it stands.

Over the past decade, Gary Farmer has been at the forefront of high-profile consumer litigation in Florida: Whether creating new law and causes of actions for subscribers wrongfully denied coverage by their HMO’s, litigating the “Butterfly Ballot” and absentee voting cases to the Florida Supreme Court during the infamous 2000 election litigation, representing consumers who were deceived by tobacco companies’ deceptive marketing practices involving light cigarettes, or representing patients, consumers and employees wronged by deceptive trade practices.
