Austin Realtor Alison Shuman Publishes Guidelines for Home Owners for Getting Rid of PMI

Austin home owners who qualify for getting rid of PMI can benefit from the guidelines for PMI cancelation published by Austin Realtor Alison Shuman, of Coldwell Banker United Realtors and FindRealAustin.

June 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) is an insurance product that many home owners have to pay if their loan is for more than 80% of the value of their home.

Fortunately, the Homeowners's Protection Act was signed into law in 1998 and went into effect in 1999.

The Homeowners Protection Act gives specific guidance for when banks must automatically terminate PMI on a mortgage loan. The Act also provides specific information for when home owners can request termination of the PMI on their loan.
