RealPlayer Review - An All-In-One Media Player & Manager

Now, it is available in version 14, an all-in-one media player and manager that is able to play, edit, share, manager, convert, download, burn, record and copy media files. There are 4 versions of RealPlayer available: RealPlayer Mini (Beta), RealPlayer Basic (Download Free Real Player Here), RealPlayer Plus, and RealPlayer SuperPass. Let's have a glance at RealPlayer 14 User Interface:

Interface

There are 4 main tabs under RealPlayer 14: Now Playing, Video, Library, and Burn. When you first launch RealPlayer 14, it shows under the video tab, with recommended movies and Google Ads. As you can see, there are banners and posters cluttered around, which doesn't really looks nice. When I navigate through the tabs, it lags for 1-2 seconds. Nevertheless, its library and burner are easy to navigate, and you probably won't face any problem with it.

Library

-Change aspect ratio
-Equalizer
-Video controls (color, sharpness)

Everytime you play a video or audio, you will see a toolbar at the bottom that allows you to share, trim, copy, or convert your media files.

Edit

You can do some basic editing, such as trimming and snapshot. Simply set the start point and end point to trim, and click "Save Picture" to save a still image.

Burn

The burner has pretty much standard features, with adjustable burning speeds. RealPlayer Plus offers premium features such as burning DVDs, SVCDs, and MP3CDs, as well as creating and printing CD jewel cases.

Converter

You can convert your audio or video files to some preset profiles listed: iPad, iPhone, Blackberry etc. Besides, you can also convert files into MP4, WMV, WMA, MP3, QuickTime, AAC, WAV, or 3GP by clicking on the "Create Custom" button.

Share

Share and upload your favorite videos via Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Myspace or E-mail easily. A features that is hardly found in any media player software.

Conclusion

RealPlayer has all the functions that a media player and management software should have, but some with pretty basic and standard features. Besides, RealPlayer often lags and does crashes sometimes randomly. However, if you're looking for a media player with variety of functions, RealPlayer is a great choice for you.
