Several Linium Insight team experts will share their knowledge and experience through informative sessions at the upcoming OAUG Connection Point® EPM/BI at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, Seattle Washington, July 20-21. OAUG Connection Point® is a focused, two-day regional forum offering Oracle customers and applications users opportunity to further their education in the fast-moving applications space, and to gain insight from peers through networking, including face-to-face meetings with Oracle experts and features over 40 sessions.

Linium’s Oracle Worldwide Practice Vice President of IT Services and Oracle ACE Director, Eric Helmer, will present EPM and OBIEE Architecture where he will examine the internals of the latest Oracle EPM version 11 and OBIEE 11g. This session will be geared for IT professionals who are considering implementing or upgrading to Oracle Fusion and want more information on its inner-workings. Attendees will learn about the various EPM and BI suite components as well as the architecture, data flow, required system administration activities, and upgrade considerations. Eric will also present “Upgrading to Fusion: Bracing for Impact!” where he will give a complete introduction to the Oracle EPM suite from a technical perspective. Learn how you can prepare for EPM and understand the impact on your IT department. Topics include services sizing, hardware and software considerations, operating systems, helpdesk integration, database administration, and on-going system administration support expectations.

Linium Insight Solutions Expert and Vice President, Sean Bernhoit, will present on how HCA uses Oracle DRM for a “single source of truth” with David Gragg, AVP, Financial Reporting for HCA. Sean will begin the presentation with an overview of the DRM application, master data management, and practical application uses. David will then show how HCA, a user of Oracle DRM since 2003, implemented DRM for use in its legacy consolidation system, expanded its use to Essbase, and built additional financial structures and dimensions. He will also show how DRM can “interpret” a single entry into multiple outputs in each application’s format or structure as well as how HCA has used DRM to allow alternate views of the same structural information for utilization during reorganizations.

In addition, Linium Insight Vice President of Financial Reporting and Consolidation, Tae Kim, will present “Complex Ownership, Equity Pickup, and Non-Controlling Interest Using HFM” to discuss how to address organization structure changes using Oracle Hyperion Financial Management. Tae is an accomplished finance, accounting, and consulting professional with extensive experience in implementing technology focusing on the needs of the financial reporting and consolidation functions.
