PRLog -- The 2011 Junior Entrepreneurs of Minnesota program got off to a great start with the Welcome Event for participants and their parents/guardians on Saturday, May 21! Up next is the gardening kick-off at St. Olaf Community Center on Saturday, June 11. Participants will be making the trip to St. Olaf each Friday throughout the program to work on a community garden. This service project will teach the junior entrepreneurs about social responsibility;
the kick-off event is sure to be a fantastic way for them to become familiar with the layout of the garden itself, as well as the program’s partners at St. Olaf. Just two days after this event, jEM officially starts! This year’s schedule is jam-packed with several exciting guest speakers and site visits. Famous Dave Anderson, Robert Marsh of Synico Staffing and Tony Williamson of AJASA Technologies will all be stopping by to share their stories. Campers will visit Quality Bicycle Products and other successful businesses to see entrepreneurship in action. If you are a local entrepreneur interested in sharing the story of your business, sponsoring this program in any way, or donating needed items for the program, please contact the Office for Business & Community Economic Development B-Tech Center at 612-624-3404, or email the jEM program at jem@umn.edu.
