June 2, 2011 - PRLog -- ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih has unveiled a host of exciting new products at Computex earlier this week, including a new Padfone, 3D tablet, Eee PCs, ultra-portable and multimedia notebooks, a new 27” all-in-one desktop alongside new ROG devices, graphics cards and motherboards.

Emphasising strengths in cutting edge design and engineering skill, ASUS have assigned the theme of ““Break the Rules, Innovation Beyond Expectation” to the 2011 portfolio of products.

“Breaking the rules and changing the status quo are the keys to our success, and we strive to offer customers and experience that surpasses their expectations” says Shih.

Computex’s Best Choice Committee has once again awarded many ASUS products with coveted titles including Best Choice of the Year (for the Eee Pad Transformer) alongside the Best Choice Design, Best Choice Display & Digital Entertainment and Best Choice Green ICT.

ASUS Padfone

ASUS has offered a sneak preview of what will be one of the most exciting products to launch later this year. The Padfone will offer new possibilities for mobile computing and communication, thanks to a unique design which combines the best of the smartphone and tablet worlds into one device.

Bringing a welcome end to data transfer hassles and the need for multi-SIM cards, the 4.3” smartphone docks inside the 10.1” tablet, charging from the battery and seamlessly integrating to share data and 3G internet access.

This clever gadget means users won’t have to choose between a pocket-sized phone or a larger screen and instead can enjoy the best of both worlds, with the application and browser layout automatically adjusting for best viewing, so users can choose the screen layout and size to suit.

You can watch a video demonstrating the feature of the product and also behind-the-scenes footage at the ASUS Design Centre.

ASUS UX Series Ultraportable Notebooks

ASUS have worked closely with Intel to develop the latest generation of UX ultraportable notebooks. Offering a classically luxurious design and only 17mm at the thickest point, the razor-thin UX Series is constructed from a strong yet incredibly light aluminium alloy shell with reinforced hinges, and a unique ‘spun’ finish.

Inside the stunning package (either 11.6” or 13.3” display) sits an impressive specification, with the second generation Intel Core i7 processor, SATA 6GB/s Solid State Drive and up to 7 hours of battery charge. An oversized keyboard and smartphone-like touchpad bring added comfort, whilst the Instant On feature restores from standby in seconds.

ASUS N Series notebooks with SonicMaster

Co-designed with world renowned designer David Lewis, the new N Series notebook range sports the same SonicMaster technology as the original NX90 with Bang & Olufsen ICEPower audio.

Within a stunning high gloss black chassis, the N Series features oversized internal speakers and sophisticated audio processing, plus a dedicated external subwoofer to provide deep bass extension which would otherwise be impossible to replicate on a laptop.

ASUS ET2700XVT 27” All-In-One with SonicMaster

At only 70mm thick, the ET2700XVT is the world’s thinnest 27” all-in-one PC and offers a smooth experience with a 10-point multi-touch screen.

The ET2700XVT brings flawless audio to the desktop with the inclusion of SonicMaster technology, and with an integrated digital TV tuner, ultra-wide 178 degree viewing angle and Blu-ray, it is not just a desktop replacement, but a TV replacement too – and an ideal choice for combining the best of both multimedia and computing worlds.

22” and 24” options are planned for the future and the ET2700XVT will be available in three SKUs including the latest Intel Core processors (i5 to i7), 1TB+ HDD and 4GB+ RAM.

ASUS Eee Pad MeMO 3D

Recognising that users have different needs, ASUS have designed the Eee Pad MeMO 3D to sit as the fourth tablet alongside the Transformer, Slider and Slate, and offer another option for browsing and consuming data.

With the latest Android OS, the pocket-sized Eee Pad MeMO 3D is an alternative take to standard 10” tablets, with a 7” multi-touch screen that can be used portrait-oriented in a traditional way with Honeycomb applications or as a digital note-taker with the stylus accessory.

When switched to landscape, the Eee Pad MeMO becomes a portal for glasses-free 3D entertainment, offering a unique display experience for movies and games on the move, whilst the bundled MeMIC Bluetooth headset offers hands-free control for music and calls.

Alongside the Eee Pad MeMO 3D, the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101 offers Android 3.1 honeycomb and a unique tablet and keyboard dock interface. Its intuitive interface and excellent performance have been rewarded with the prestigious accreditations of Best Choice of the Year and Best Design awards.

The Eee Pad Slider SL101 packs the same internal specification as the Transformer but offers a different way of manipulating the content, with a QWERTY keyboard cleverly hidden underneath the 10.1” hinged display.

Finally, the ASUS Eee Slate EP121 12.1” tablet, awarded the CES 2011 innovations award, is the most capable tablet available and boasts Windows 7 operating system and Intel Core i5 processing technology.

New Eee PCs

ASUS are committed to developing the Eee PC range and bring users three new options for fully functional computing on the go.

The 10.1” Eee PC X101 is a true ultraportable with the Intel MeeGo OS and the latest Intel Atom 435 processor. Offering a QWERTY keyboard, wireless and full support for social networking it is the perfect companion for computing away from home.

The 10.1” Eee PC X101H is the X101’s big brother, with the added choice of either Intel MeeGo or Windows 7, and the option of either HDD or SSD drive. Featuring Instant On technology to bring the netbook to life in just seconds (and last 2 weeks in standby) plus a range of stylish colours, users can make a statement across the entertainment, work and fashion worlds.

The Eee PC 1025 series is the Seashell re-invented. The tiny housing packs in the power of an Intel Dual Core Atom processor, Instant On technology and up to 14 hours battery life. HDMI output and a 4x zoom webcam make this ideal for entertainment and video chat, both on the device or larger screens. Available in a range of colours, the Eee PC 1025 series is finished in sleek metallic with a silver lining for a highly sophisticated style.

ASUS WAVI Xtion

WAVI (Wireless Audio Video Interaction) introduces remote HD streaming around the home with a simple set-up and robust signal transduction technology, a combination which gained it the Computex Best Choice Communication Award.

ASUS has worked closely with PrimeSense (a leader in motion sensor technology) to create the Xtion – the world’s first and only open-source controller-free gesture based device for the PC.

The Xtion lets users upscale their gaming fun to big screen TVs whilst integrating control into social networking, multimedia and existing games. Not only does the Xtion portal provide a one-stop shop for new games and utilities, the device already bundles games such as MayaFit, DanceWall and Beat Booster to offer fun, laughter and exercise for friends and family.
