The Fujitsu n7010 notebook is going to take some time to learn how to best use it and how to use it.

June 2, 2011 - PRLog -- With the touchpad and internal display, both using touch technology it is an adjustment that you will need to plan to take some time with.

While features such as the internal display can be beneficial, there are aspects of this notebook that make it not so ideal for mobile professionals.

The battery life is about average for this style of laptop. You are looking at just over 2 hours that is enough for watching a movie; be sure to turn off Wi-Fi first and dim the display some to help conserve power.

The actual construction of the N7010 is not as sturdy as other Fujitsu models and did give me some concerns. When opening and closing the N7010 I found it to be quite creaky and I was concerned about it snapping. The top part of the casing (behind the display) also felt spongy. I certainly would make sure to keep this laptop in a very well padded laptop case when traveling.

The main display provides a very crisp image and whether looking at a document or viewing a web page it is easy on the eyes. This would be useful if you need to share a presentation with a co-worker or client on your notebook.

It will give you the best instructions for using the second display and how to move programs to it.

I did find that I had to keep the notebook at a slight upward angle in order to properly see the internal display. When the notebook was sitting flat there was some reflection back from the main display and it did make it more difficult to see the smaller display clearly.

The internal display requires only a light touch, different from how you would use the touch pad so be prepared to take some time getting to know how to use it best.

The internal display is 4" and while I initially wasn't sure which way to take advantage of it or how to get the best viewing angle. It was useful when using a messaging program as I could keep that program in the small display and still work on things in the main display.
To connect to the Internet you have the choice of Ethernet or Wi-Fi. If you require a modem if dial-up is the only option then you'll have to purchase an external modem. This does limit the overall functionality for mobile professionals as I know that I like knowing that if Wi-Fi or Ethernet isn't available I can still use dial-up.

The Blu-ray? ROM Drive has all the functionality needed with the added bonus that you can watch Blu-ray? movies on it. You can still read and write to CD or DVD media.

An interesting feature that I haven't seen on other notebook models is the removable dust filter that will make it easier to keep clean. My only concern is how well the filter will stay in place with repeated use. Will it loosen up over time? That we'll have to wait and see.
