Follow on Google News | Data Floats Securely on the CloudData, drizzling off cloud-based applications was the important security concern of data managers. 'iCube-Office' has effectively addressed this issue to bring the benefits of technology to the door step of small and medium businesses.
By: Beracah John Martyn Beracah John Martyn, Marketing Director for 'iCube-Office' said, “We serve businesses with 'iCube-Office and enable them to function continuously and effectively by giving them a truly 'anywhere, anytime office'. It is only natural that we have decided to address their genuine concern – Security! It is too important an issue to be ignored.” Our Engineers were commissioned with the task to design and develop a system that would ensure a. security of the data stored and shared on the cloud and (b). data belonging to a company resided only in the company's computers housed at their premises. In response our Engineers have succeeded in designing a system that would allow a company's data to be stored in their computers residing in their premises, while giving the full advantages of the Cloud concept. The data stored can be disseminated in real time, as in a 'Anywhere, Anytime Office'. Only difference would be that the data cannot be read by anyone else in transmission or hacked or copied from the computer and put to use , added Mr. Martyn. The customer would have the option to choose to store our very secure, well protected data centers administered by stringent government laws. Such a system could ensure total security for the data stored and used on the Cloud. Since data resides at the company's premises, the threat of data pilferage would no longer be a concern. While big players in the Cloud environment are finding Fixes to plug in their loop-holes and patting on their backs, as millions of the customers contact data have been hacked and stolen, iCube-Office has developed a solution to ensure control is with the owners of the data. It is hoped that with such a system coming into the cloud, more and more companies would move into the cloud to take advantage of the benefits technology brings. It is expected to be available for customers by mid June The added advantage is that it does not require dedicated servers or a static ip. Normal internet connection with a dynamic ip would be sufficient. It also addresses the 'continuity' problem. Until now data managers were wondering what would happen to their data should a data center or the company providing the service should shut down for any reason. Since it would be possible to store all data in their premises, that issue would no longer be a hindrance to moving into the cloud. “We will provide a method for the customer to retrieve their files from their storage and use it in the normal way. This we have done so that it would allow the company to ensure the integrity of the data until issues such as payments are settled between us”, said Mr. Martyn. While most cloud players are divided whether cloud security is the provider's responsibility or the user's responsibility, iCube-Office has come out with a solution that can be seen as an effort to address it as a universal responsibility. This should convince aspirants to join the cloud community to take up their wings and float on the cloud. 'iCube-Office' is an innovative concept in cloud computing. It is a truly 'anywhere, anytime office' providing continuous access to office data and also contact handling by customers.
