Established by Lillian C Hughes (A Vermont resident for more than 30 years), the tour is a full 8 hours of observing and exploring the green mountains majestic waterfalls and forests without having to look at a map. “Environmental psychologists have demonstrated that contact with nature restores attention and mental focus while also helping the mind to recover from mental fatigue (Kaplan & Kaplan, 1989).” www.brighthub.com/
With all the stressors in our busy lives it can be challenging to feed our need for contact with nature. “Humans have a deep-seated need for contact with nature, which researchers theorize provides relaxing down time for a brain that is otherwise overtaxed by modern pressures.” according to http://www.livescience.com/
The adult only tour runs 9am to 5:30pm Wednesday through Saturday from June 8th to October 29th for the 2011 season and includes lunch. Book online website: http://www.vermontwaterfallstour.com. About Vermont Waterfalls Tour LLC
Lillian C Hughes started Vermont Waterfalls Tour LLC this spring in hopes of helping people get in touch with nature without the stress of finding places. She is both a naturalist and food traditionalist who believes that nature is the path to healing.
Establishing Vermont Waterfalls Tour LLC has been a dream of Ms. Hughes for many years although the concept is but a year old, her dream of starting her own business is much older. In the mid 1990's she participated in the Women's Small Business program in hopes of starting her own business. It wasn't until last year on a trip to Moss Glen Falls-Stowe with her family that the business concept was formed.
The tour is 180 scenic Vermont miles riding in a Ford E350 12 passenger van. 7 waterfalls, a stop for lunch in Hancock along the way, and a ride through Smugglers Notch to cap off the day. Let the healing begin.
