A Morphic Celebration of Integrity

Two enthusiastic game lovers, one a designer, the other a developer, decided they had to get their fingers into the gaming industry. Being equally in love with the Flash software, for animation and programming, they decided to use the (at the time Macromedia, but now) Adobe Flash technology and enrich the world with awesome Flash games.

That day marked the birth of one of the most original Flash games sites on the web and proof that there are still game developers with integrity and class. When you visit the GamezArena site you won't be overwhelmed with mass amounts of flashing, swirling ads crammed in every nook and cranny of an already gaudy site. Nor will you have to wait at least 30 seconds before every game for some ad to have its moment in the spotlight. GamezArena does have advertisements they just present them in a more elegant manner. The idea is to offer top quality games instead of littering a huge billboard with generic flash games. And speaking of game sites' designs, a new GamezArena feature is their morphic site theme. They have created a design that changes depending upon the season, time of day (based upon location by IP address), and events such as Halloween, New Years, and the Super Bowl. They wanted to add a bit of adventure to each visit other than what is readily available in their games.

Until now GamezArena had been mainly focused on site owners while still presenting the games freely for the public to play. This, of course, is a tricky thing because many of their games have been taken/stolen and placed upon many generic game sites all over the web. "Just one of the hazards of creating something special. There are music artists and film production companies trying to withstand piracy and with a much healthier source of funding to work with as well. So, we do what we can, but nothing is full proof." To help keep their games unique and appealing to buyers, as well as gamers, GamezArena periodically overhauls their games to give them a fresh appearance and possibly new functionality.

One thing GamezArena had fallen a little short on in the past was the social aspect of gaming. So, in the latest "overhaul" of the GamezArena site, and games, a bit more attention was put upon that area. They made sure that all of their games have a high score system. Multiple pages throughout the site now display the top 3 players by genre and game. GamezArena also introduced a free, and optional, membership feature. Visitors may play the games without a membership but their scores are not saved to the high score tables. Plus, neither registered or unregistered players are ever prompted to enter a name within any of the games. While the current usage of the membership feature is mainly to keep the high score tables clean of redundant scores submissions from the same players, it leaves the possibility to be elaborated upon in the future to include more social interaction between members. GamezArena is also "tossing the idea around" to release some turn based multiplayer games in the "not too distant future".

Some other new features would include a free downloads section where visitors may download wallpapers and avatars. GamezArena has also strategically placed little tidbits of interesting gaming facts in the form of "Did you know" questions, once again showing how GamezArena has integrity, style, and are a class above the rest.
