| Bucknum and Stout Continue To Impress FansMitchum Motorsports Stayed Competitive At Bosch Engineering 250
By: Strategic Vision, LLC “We had another crazy up and down race weekend at VIR for the #6 Camaro. We got off to a rough start with a fuel pump problem that had the crew scratching their heads initially,” said Jeff Bucknum. “The crew at Mitchum Motorsports never gave up and found the problem right before qualifying. My teammate Robert Stout did a good job in qualifying considering he only had a few laps in the car at VIR before he had to qualify. Robert did an outstanding job racing the car from 18th all the way up to 1st leading a handful of laps.” Bucknum continues; “All the Camaro teams are working hard with GRAND-AM to allow some development to be done on the Camaros so we have a chance to run up front with the other manufactured cars. Until that happens it’s going to be very difficult for us to win any races, but we will not give up!” “We Struggled at the beginning of the weekend with what turned out to be a fuel pick-up issue,” said Robert Stout. “The Mitchum Motorsports team did an incredible job working to find the problem. On top of that it rained off and on all weekend making it hard to predict car setup, or from a drivers point of view, push the car to its limits every lap. I took the green flag from the 19th spot and started working my way towards the front. “ “With the help of a couple cautions and pitting cars, I took the Lucas Oil/Makita Power Tools/E3 Spark Plugs/Rockstar Energy Camaro to the first spot of the 25 car GS field,” continued Stout. “We were gambling on a one pit stop strategy, leaving me out on the track as long as possible, which looked to pay off as I was able to lead the race at one point. At the halfway mark I handed the car off to co-driver Jeff Bucknum who went out to work his way to a strong finish. Due to heavy contact with a competing car, we had fallen back to a mid-pack finish. Although it wasn't the end result we had hoped for, I would call the weekend an overall success as the team really got this Camaro working well, which only helps me develop as a driver getting more comfortable and confident in the car. On a personal note this weekend was very gratifying as it's the first time in my career that i was able to lead in a GRAND-AM race. I entered this series with high expectations of myself, and for the first time this season, I finally feel like I achieved those goals. My lap times were very competitive this weekend and I have to thank the Mitchum Motorsports team and my fellow team drivers for helping me get here.” Additional information may be obtained at www.mitchummotorsports.com, www.jeffbucknum.com, www.robertstoutracing.com or www.p1groupe.com. # # # A Motorsports Management company representing some of the best drivers and teams across the globe.
