Beyond The Battle: Studio Sessions 101

May 14, 2011 - PRLog -- This month Atl Beat Battle & The Blue Room Recording are offering exclusive classes for aspiring producers, writers, and artists looking to broaden his or her horizons by learning about recording in Protools, vocal mixing, and instrumental mixing.  You will learn many basic tips and take a deeper look into the recording process and get tips on how to improve your sound utilizing Protools. This will be an open forum and an interactive learning experience for people wanting to enhance their knowledge on their craft.  This month’s classes will be taught in The Blue Room's 2,000 sq foot facility in west midtown located right across the street from SESAC and ASCAP.  Beverages will be served and networking is welcome!

James Kang is a professional and successful recording and mixing engineer. He will be instructing this month’s classes. Some of his clients include: Bobby Valentino, Big Gee from Boyz in the Hood, Waka Flocka, Shawty Lo, Sammie, Scar, L Roc, Sean Paul, F.L.Y, LA REID MUSIC PUBLISHING, D Brown, and many more. The two classes that will be offered are listed below.

Protools Vocal Recording and Mixing:

This class will focus on proper recording techniques, file organization, leveling, and essential short cuts in protools.  James will also give you a brief introduction to eq, compression, and adding effects as well as an education and break down of the gear used in a major recording studio.  This class is perfect for the songwriter or producer looking to record themselves or their artist at home.

Beats enhancing your instrumentals

This class will focus on enhancing the sonics of your instrumentals, tips on leveling,  getting kicks to hit harder, utilizing plug ins on your beats, using outboard gear, different ways to record live instruments, etc.  This class is ideal for beat makers and producers.
